Mahnomen Fertilizer Addition Project

Feb 28, 2024

In September of 2023 WCAS in Mahnomen started breaking ground for a 7,000-ton addition onto our existing 11,000-ton fertilizer facility. The current blending system is an AGI declining weight multi - feed with eight 20-ton fertilizer blending hoppers and two micro bins. Holding capacity for blended fertilizer of four 30-ton overhead bins. In addition to adding 7,000 more tons of storage, WCAS added four more 20-ton blending hoppers. The blending hoppers will be for specialty products and other fertilizers that were not offered at the Mahnomen plant in the past.

The status of construction is that the wood division should finish around March 1st, electricians are on site and progressing well. Roofers started February 26th. Mill rights construction is ahead of schedule. WCAS/ Mahnomen might not have the new four blending hoppers online yet if we have an early spring, but everything else is ready to go to accommodate your fertilizer needs.
